Descripción general

I.SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The position supports the Product Line Manager (PLM), responsible for all products. Product engineering entails activities dealing with issues of cost, producibility, quality, performance, reliability, serviceability, intended lifespan and all technical aspects of the product. Other activities include technical interface with suppliers, some product application, data sheets, technical reports and drawings.

Product Cost Management
Understand and track all product line costs.
Work with Manufacturing, Purchasing and Development on strategies to reduce costs.
Review costs in SAP to make sure they accurately manufactured costs.
Quality & Reliability
Supports Quality and Manufacturing on questions/issues related to quality of reliability of GDT products.
Product
Develop product documentation and drawings in support of new products.
Assures that data presented in data sheets is accurate and can be supported by specifications and processes.
Informs PLM of any changes to products that could require a Product Change Notice. Visit suppliers as needed and understand manufacturing and quality processes.
Manufacturing Support
Product Engineer consults in efforts to improve yields and reduce scrap.
Consults/Supports Production on questions regarding disposition of rejected lots of piece parts and finished goods.

Customer Service/Sales/Customer Support
PLM will screen and forward select questions/requests from sales regarding products. Product Engineer will follow-up and answer question I.SUMMARY OF POSITION:

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Technical Bachelors Degree, preference for Electronic Engineer.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Possess a working knowledge of design, manufacturing and testing of GDT devices. Possess interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal functions, customers and management.
OTHER SKILLS:Time management and organizational skills are critical. Candidate must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment with some travel. Demonstration of self-motivation and original thinking skills will differentiate .

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
This position is devoted to cross-functional activity and requires excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in addition to a strong electronic background. Candidates must have demonstrated ability in working effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Success will come from ownership, influencing and leadership in driving improvements to the product line.

COMMUNICATIONS:
ORAL: Good verbal skills required to communicate instructions and present ideas, concepts and solutions to all level of employees, vendors and customers.

WRITTEN: Good written skills are required to issue instructions and present ideas, concepts and solutions to all levels of employees, customers and vendors via letters emails, graphs, charts and reports, etc.
